Don obtained his first broker's license in Missouri, 1973 and focused on the sale and leasing of commercial properties. Projects involved the sales, leasing and property management of smaller office and apartment complexes. Later, Don relocated to Chicago, pursuing corporate real estate services with a focus in land development and property finance with Jones Lang LaSalle. Following that, he joined Trammel Crow Company and became a development partner in office properties centered in Chicago's suburbs. In addition to attaining the nation's top rankin office leasing in 1985, Don earned ditinguished national awards for marketing in both collateral materials and in developing public relations events on a major scale. Following the 1986 Tax Reform Act, the business structure, and the opportunities in development, suddenly lessend. After relocating to California, Don focused on the residential market of the San Diego coastline. In 1999 the family decided to move to Colorado, where they enjoyed a ski home since the early 1960's. Here he focused his business around residential resort properties. In 2004 Slifer Smith & Frampton hired Don as Branch Broker to open their Frisco office for the firm as they were just entering Summit County. With over 3 decades of professional experience in the real esate, a wide variety of project experience, including the sale of existing luxury second homes and to-be-built residences of single family and multi-family types, Don offers a lot to the Thomas Group. He is currently joined by his wife, Kay, daughter, Marny, and son, Scott. Together they form the Thomas Group.
