Alison Maltese – People of LIV

At LIV Sotheby’s International Realty, our people make the difference! Learn more about one of our remarkable brokers, Alison Maltese, in her personal Q&A.

How long have you been in the real estate industry for? I have been licensed since 2017 but I have been involved in several fix and flips, rental properties, and new construction projects of my own since 1995.

What initially drew you to the real estate industry? When I was growing up, my parents had investment properties and a vacation home and got their license to collaborate with a group of investors in a commercial property. This inspired me to consider real estate later in my life. After having some properties of my own and having hands-on experience, I decided it was time to get my license.

What has been your biggest accomplishment in your career? Working with a variety of transactions from attached, detached, new construction, pre-foreclosure, and relocation – I feel that growing my business in these areas has added to my accomplishments.

What makes LIV Sotheby’s International Realty unique? The brand and the international networking opportunities are what make LIV Sotheby’s International Realty so unique. I can resource my clients to anywhere in the state, country or world in order to find them a home.

What is a trend that you are keeping your eye on right now in the industry? The Airbnb craze – I see so many new communities allowing for these zonings. It will be interesting as to how homeowners will sell or invest in more properties. Also, the new purchasing options through Marriot and Amazon will obviously affect the perception of the real estate industry in a new way.

Personally, what drives you in this industry? Being creative in my business and helping others fuels my ambition.

What are your hobbies/interests outside of the office? When I am not focusing on my client’s needs you can usually find me outside playing in the great outdoors. I need my bicycle to decompress so riding is top on the list along with hiking. If the weather is not fair, I will be inside at a yoga class or just relaxing with my family and friends at home or in a coffee shop.

What’s your favorite part about living and working in Colorado? 300 days of sunshine in a year!  Growing up outside of Boston, Massachusetts was humid and rainy – I love the dry climate here and waking up most days with a bright day. Having access to the foothills and mountains allows my husband and I to jump on the Harley at a whim, not to mention the joy of finding new homes to explore and network with other offices around the state. With numerous LIV Sotheby’s International Realty offices, I am able to connect and refer my business with expertise and ease for my clients.

What community do you live in? What do you like about it? I live in Olde Town Arvada. Having the walkability to so many great coffee shops, breweries and restaurants have spoiled me. My neighbors are like family. My husband and I enjoy sitting on the front porch and socializing with people going into town. Our neighborhood has joined together to work with the city and designed a review committee to rezone our neighborhood and preserve the historic properties.  It was a long process but learned quite a lot.
