Golf Digest Ranks Three Douglas County Golf Courses Among Top 20 “Best In State”

Fairways are shaping up for Spring, and Golf Digest agrees that Colorado is home to some of the best – with its 2015-16 season poll that ranks three Douglas County golf courses, all with several listings represented by LIV Sotheby’s’ International Realty, among the Top 20 Best in State.

Castle Pines Golf Club in Castle Rock, Colorado Golf Club in Parker, and The Club at Ravenna, in Littleton, were honored in the top 20 in 2014, and all either held their position, or rose in rank, this season.

“More and more, people are shopping lifestyles which plays into the success we are seeing in all of our golf course communities,” said Katie Williams, executive vice president, LIV Sotheby’s International Realty. “We are experiencing a huge increase in sales in both the custom homes sites along with the lock and leave properties. It is wonderful to see all the new construction come back to the market.”

Castle Pines Golf Club, designed by Jack Nicklaus and home to The International, a PGA Tour event, for over 20 years (1986-2006), topped the list at #1 for the second year running. Colorado Golf Club, home of the 2013 Solheim Cup, held steady at #4 for the second year in a row, and The Club at Ravenna, home to the NCAA Division II Regional Crossover, ranked #15—up two spots from last season.

Other Denver-area clubs of note on the list include Cherry Hills Golf Club in Cherry Hills Village, host of the 2014 BMW Championship, which ranked #3, and the Denver Country Club at #12.

Golf Digest evaluates each golf course based on the following criteria: shot values, resistance to scoring, design variety, memorability, architecture, golf course conditioning, and ambiance.

“Alongside such courses as Castle Pines Village and Colorado Golf Club, The Club at Ravenna’s recognition as one of the best golf courses is significant because these courses are among Colorado’s most elite. This recognition is a testament that LIV Sotheby’s International Realty represents the finest golf communities in Douglas County, period.”

LIV Sotheby’s International Realty represents listings at several of the Douglas County courses ranked in the Golf Digest poll, and offers the industry’s leading relocation services for individuals seeking second home ownership or proximity to living in a golf community.
