Boulder Brokerage Expands Leadership Team; David Carner to Take the Reins

David Carner Color 119TLIV Sotheby’s International Realty is pleased to announce that David Carner has been selected to lead the esteemed brokerage’s Boulder location as vice president, managing broker. A top real estate professional, Carner’s integrity, commitment to excellence, and demonstrated knowledge of the luxury real estate market make him an ideal candidate to lead the esteemed brokerage, which underwent a name change to LIV Sotheby’s International Realty in January.

“David and I go back 23 years in the business,” said LIV Sotheby’s International Realty president, Scott Webber. “ I have followed his career very closely and am thrilled to have him join our team. He brings important experience and energy to our firm and to the Boulder office.”

A fourth generation real estate broker, Carner joins the Boulder brokerage team with extensive experience in consulting and business development, and a deft understanding of the real estate industry. When he was just 18, Carner earned his real estate license while attending CU in Boulder, CO, followed by his MBA in Real Estate. Carner served as an agent with Coldwell Banker Bodin Realty, before taking on the position of managing broker at Fowler Better Homes and Gardens in 1998. He later returned to Coldwell Banker as managing broker of both the Conifer office and later, the West office in Lakewood, CO.

In 2002, Carner joined the Jim Bodin team in Boulder, growing a staff of two licensed assistants to become the ten-agent, five-staff mega team that became the #1 Top Team for Coldwell Banker in Colorado for over eight years. During that time, David participated directly in over 1,000 transactions, simultaneously directing the operations and marketing for the team.

In 2008, David left sales and management to become an executive business consultant for Coldwell Banker Real Estate, LLC, providing brand services to the franchisees; most notably, business planning. During his 6-year tenure, Carner consulted with over 50 different companies in a territory spanning six western states, and oversaw a book of business of approximately $60M annual GCI and 700 sales associates.

“My real estate experience now spans almost 30 years, and includes listing and selling real estate in Aspen and Boulder, managing offices for the largest brokerage in the nation, managing the top brokerage team in Colorado, and being a business consultant to over 50 different real estate company owners in six different states,” said Carner.

Carner returns to Boulder to lead a team of the best Realtors in the business. By serving as their coach, confidant, and counselor, Carner hopes to help his brokers realize their professional goals, while working for the most recognized real estate brand worldwide.

“I look forward to establishing the Sotheby’s International Realty brand as the trusted source for luxury real estate in the Boulder area,” said Carner. “Through innovative marketing services, and professional representation, we will create exceptional experiences for our customers, and build lifetime relationships with our clients. Our firm will consist of only the best Realtors in the business, chosen for their proven strength of character, and sterling reputation for doing business right. Our office will also be the most fun place to work.”

Carner is an avid outdoors enthusiast and a three-time finisher of the 100-mile, Leadville Trail 100 running race, and was the 43rd person ever to complete the Leadman, by finishing all five races of the Leadville Race Series, consisting of a 100-mile run, 100-mile mountain bike, trail marathon, 50-mile mountain bike and 10K run- all in one year. Carner has also recently taken up pack burro racing (Colorado’s official summer heritage sport), and is currently training with his donkey, Ellroy, for a run at the World Championship in Fairplay this summer.
