Alliance Française To Host Artist’s Reception For Beth Erickson Sand’s “A Love Letter to New Orleans”

Rue-de-Bourbon-Par-Jour-300x232The thick air, the smoky voodoo vibe of the French Quarter, the frenetic abandon and grit of Bourbon Street during Mardi Gras, the fascinating history, with music interwoven through every fiber – all of the above are captured in Beth Erickson Sand’s exhibit “A Love Letter to New Orleans.” Pictured left, a piece from the collection, Rue de Bourbon Par Jour.

“My paintings are the visual expression of bold emotion on canvas or glass.  I do not meticulously plan my paintings but rather start with a loosely abstract idea and let the creative process mold and shape the piece as I work,” explains Beth.

Beth-Erickson-Sand-Artist-Pic-300x200Chicago born and raised with a 5-year detour in rural Tennessee, Beth worked primarily on sculpture until the late 1990’s when she found herself inspired to paint. Today, her work resides in abstract expressionism on glass, canvas, paper and wood. In between brush strokes, Beth also serves her community as one of Colorado’s premiere real estate brokers at Fuller Sotheby’s International Realty in Cherry Creek.

Her current exhibit, which includes abstract expressionism on glass and canvas, tells a vibrant story of NOLA’s rich, exuberant energy, on display at Alliance Française de Denver through April 25th.

Be sure to pencil in April’s “First Friday” into your schedule for the chance to meet the artist herself on April 4, 2014 from 5-8 pm, at the Artist’s Reception, sponsored in part by Fuller Sotheby’s International Realty and the Alliance Française de Denver. This is a free event held at the exquisite Alliance Française art gallery. Food and drink will be served, parking is free, and better yet, a portion of the proceeds from all sales at the exhibition will benefit Alliance Francaise de Denver and Colorado Youth at Risk.

Why not make a night of it? Come early and then head two blocks west to the Santa Fe Art District for more First Friday art fun! A great way to kick off the spring season. Fuller Sotheby’s International Realty is a proud sponsor of the upcoming Artist’s Reception. Join us in congratulating Beth Erickson Sand on her extraordinary talents.
