Journey To Kilimanjaro | Fuller Sotheby’s Gautam Sachania Climbs For A Causelivxmin
When we heard that fellow support staff associate and transaction manager, Gautam Sachania of our downtown Denver office was training for an epic climb to the summit of Kilimanjaro we were impressed, however it was the story behind his journey that gave us pause and touched our hearts. Over 60 years ago, Gautam’s father was a student at Uhuru, then called Jacaranda Primary School. After traveling with his family to Africa in 2010 Gautam described the experience as nothing short of “incredible” as he was able to visit the school that first opened its doors in 1941.
“Meeting with the children and teachers were heart warming moments, and offered me a glimpse into a less privileged world where most students do not have the money for basic school supplies,” says Gautam. “This fundraiser will help provide for renovations to the building, testing fees, and school supplies such as uniforms, textbooks, paper, pencils, soccer balls, board games, and maintenance equipment for the mentally handicap unit. My goal is not only to reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, but in doing so, raise money for a place of learning in need. For my father, being a student here those many years ago was one of the most enriching experiences of his life. By making a difference that directly impacts education in East Africa, I am certain that together, we can instill hope and aspiration in all the children that enroll at Uhuru Primary School.”
Fuller Sotheby’s International Realty congratulates Gautam Sachania on his dedication to make a difference in the lives of children attending Uhuru Primary School and wish him the best of luck in his journey to Kilimanjaro which will take place in February of 2014.
