Vail Valley Summer Markets

The Vail Valley’s summer schedule is always packed full of events, and 2012 is no different. Farmer’s markets pop up every summer all around the Rocky Mountain west…For fresh food, unique gifts, and one-of-a-kind jewelry, shoppers can visit one of the many that open their doors each weekend until early fall. The Minturn farmer’s market is open between 9am-2pm on Saturdays through September 8th. 115 vendors per week set uptheir booths at the market, which has run for 12 weeks each summer since 1998. Vendors vary week-to-week, providing a huge selection of ever-changing goods. Located in historic downtown Minturn, visitors can take in the town’s history while browsing the booths, which feature everything from garden fresh local produce to boutique clothing and handcrafted art made from recycled glass and indigenous stones. Live music, face painting and activities for the kids, and the city’s charming old-West architecture create a fun and vibrant atmosphere. Some highlights this July include:

  • Bottlehood, recycled glassware vendors selling jewelry, kitchenware, and garden/home décor
  • Scentsy- Scent of the Rockies, offering unique hand-made Colorado candles in a variety of scents
  • The Ice Cream Lady and the Hotdog Man, a married couple who sell hotdogs and ice cream out of New York City street vendor carts
  • Lebid Designs, custom made jewelry that highlights each customers’ best features and enhances their skin tone and natural beauty

If you can’t make it to Minturn on Saturdays, the Vail Farmer’s Market and Art Show runs Sundays 10am-3pm from June 17th– September 23rd.
